Vegas Casinos losing Against Online Casinos
With the country in a state of recession, Las Vegas is feeling the heat. Business is slow and with the high cost of running a land based casino, there are not too many winners walking out their doors.
So players are choosing to stay in the comfort of their homes and gamble with online casinos, where the odds of winning are better than playing at any land based casino lately. Why? Well like I said earlier, running a casino online is much cheaper and easier than running a casino that has a hotel, resort, restaurants and theaters. So the result is the tightening of slot machines with less payouts according to the “Las Vegas Sun”.
Some would think that the way to have a casino pick up business would be to loosen the slots, get some winners and promote the fact that they have big winners to draw in some players. But just the opposite is going on, therefore making gaming at home with online casinos more attractive to gamblers.
Not only does the gambler get to sit in the comfort of their homes, they can smoke if they wish, eat what they want, get up and take a break without worrying about losing their machine, and they also save money on gas for their cars, and food while out.
Anthony Curtis a publisher for the “Las Vegas Advisor Newsletter says,” there has definitely been a tightening of the machines at the casinos, and video poker is one of the type of machines that has been witnessed to be paying out less. Also the Nevada Gaming Board reports a sharp drop in slot machine payoffs compared to last year.
In the meanwhile, the number of US players to online gaming sites has risen and slots continue to be a bargain that pays out more and keeps players coming back.
